Maiden Camping Trip

Our first camping trip of the season was this past weekend to Kanaskat-Palmer State park with the Tjossem family.  One of the great things about this park is that it's close to home but once inside the park it feels like you are out in the wilderness!  Bike riding, s'mores, panning for gold, letter boxing, eating, camp fires were just some the many fun things we did this weekend.

Tillicum Village

Friday marked Emily's 4th grade field trip to Tillicum Village on Blake Island.  It was pretty cool.  I have never been over to Blake Island before.  The only bummer, after the lunch and show we only had about 30 minutes to explore before getting back onto the boat.

World Cup Concert

Em's class concert was last night...the theme, the World Cup.  Even had a guest speaker, Roger Levesque from the Seattle Sounders FC.  The concert was quite entertaining and one of my favorites.  Ms. T and the kids did a great job!  There was a lot of ukulele playing which according to my mom made her want to hop a flight to the Caribbean and drink pina colada's!  Brandi and I quickly agreed to accompany her!

Kind of hard to spot but Em is in the second row from the bottom, in the middle.  It was cool since she was standing next to her friend Chase.

I was so proud, Em got up with some other kids and salsa danced.  She's come a long way since the super shy kiddo!

Hat Day

Friday marked Hat Day at Emily's school.  Thanks to Mandy for capturing this picture at the bus stop!

Spike

Well we said goodbye to Spike (Em's beta fish) on Wednesday.  Yup, found him upside down on the bottom of the tank.  Emily sang 'Amazing Grace' as we flush him down for his burial to fish heaven.  Can't we get a break?

Easter

We had planned to have Easter brunch at our house but due to the heart surgery thing, we put that on hold since we weren't sure what was happening hour by hour.  Saturday evening came and we decided to have our family still come but thought I would just order pizza.  Well Brandi and Ryan stepped in and said they would get all the food for Easter.  It was awesome!  They brought a wonderful, yummy Easter lunch.  Complete with ham and all the fixings!  Thank you to the Pederson's for taking charge and making it a nice break from a very emotional weekend.  The kids had a great time.  Emily and Luke woke up to find the Easter bunny had visited our house.  My favorite part was Luke saying 'oh look, the Easter bunny came, he found me at Auntie Jen's house!'

Whirlwind

Wow, you could say our family has been on a whirlwind this past week and that would be an understatement.  Scott had to have emergent open heart surgery last Friday.  We found out Thursday night and it's been a roller coaster ride since.  After some ups and downs I'm extremely happy to report the surgery was successful and Scott should be coming home tomorrow.  So Luke got to hang out with us all weekend.  In the attempt to keep things semi-normal for the kids here are some happenings from the weekend:

Eggs Galore

Between the accident and the doctor trip, we had some good things.  The neighborhood Easter egg hunt.  Emily's girl scout troop helped this year stuffing the eggs and 'hiding' them.  The Pederson's joined in on the fun and we ended the afternoon with happy hour at Hop Jacks.  And yes I had a tall ice cold glass of beer....two actually.  Please don't judge.

It's Called Life

Well this weekend wasn't stellar for the Moser house.  I was hoping I didn't have to work but that plan didn't pan out as expected.  On my way to work I was rear ended.  So not a stellar way to start my day.  The great news is that neither I nor the other driver are injured.  But my new Avalon didn't fair so well.  And yes that is duct tape holding the fender panel on.

 

 



This morning Emily and I spent over two hours at the prompt care clinic.  She has been complaining of ear pain on and off for about 10 days.  Last night and this morning the pain intestified.  And yes, she has an ear infection.  I deserve mom of the year award right?  I kept thinking it would go away and frankly with tax season my mind is on overload.  Please don't judge.

Thirteen on Seven

Chris and I celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary today, April 7th.  Given that this time of year is extremely busy for my work, we generally celebrate after tax season ends.  But this year we had the opportunity to have dinner and a date on Saturday.  Happy Anniversary Chris!  Love you masses!



Can you see the rainbow?  I think it's a sign.  At the bottom of the rainbow is where Chris and I had our wedding reception.  This was the view as we walked into Katie Downs on our anniversary date night.  Super cool!

Luke's Party

A little late....Luke celebrated his birthday last Saturday at Peak Gymnastics.  It was a fun filled, action packed day.  All the kids were in heaven...bouncing, screaming, running, jumping and foam pit wars.

Crazy Hair Day

Hakuna Matata

you know...the worry free song from Lion King!  Sandy treated Emily for a fun filled day out including lunch and a ticket to the Lion King.  They went with Karen and Nora.  She was so excited and over the moon about seeing this play.  And it lived up to her expectations.  Her favorite part was the opening scene when Rafiki the mandrill calls the animals to Pride Rock to present Simba.

Today is Sandy's birthday.  We celebrated on Saturday with a yummy dinner out at the Ram.  The rain even held for us to take a walk along the waterfront.  Hope you have a great and special day Sandy!

I'm quite surprised by my amaryllis.  It's pretty much thrived on neglect.  It bloomed last year and I wasn't sure that it would bloom again.  But isn't this amazing?

Two Weeks of Catch Up

I just realized it's been over two weeks since my last post.  Life is very busy in our household and the fact that I'm in the heart of tax season working Saturdays adds to the fun!  Here's what's been going on....

Last weekend we celebrated Mandy's birthday with a night out at BJ's Brewery.  Yummy food and some good girl time.

We are in the thick of Girl Scout cookie sales.  Emily had two booths and both were a success.  Kuddo's to Chris, he is a true Girl Scout Dad as he had to do the booth duty yesterday since I was working.  Emily has sold over 280 boxes of cookies!  Thanks to all our family, friends and co-workers for your support.

Our family has a new addition....yes another new vehicle was purchased.  Chris got a new 2014 Toyota Tundra.
