On Saturday we headed to the Kradjan's for lunch. Up from Portland were Marty, Jamee and Max. We had a great Mexican fiesta lunch. Here's to friends, fun and food.

Reading

Emily has two weeks of school before her summer vacation. It is amazing how much she has learned in kindergarten. On Thursday night she read me an entire book by herself. She was so proud and excited. It was one of those mom moments I will treasure. Keep reading bugga, I love you!

Sun and Sisters

This past weekend my sister and I headed to Arizona for a sister's weekend. We stayed at a wonderful resort called Firesky Resort in Scottsdale. We had an amazing time just reading, relaxing in the sun and visiting. We topped off the trip by dining at a couple favorites, Four Peaks Brewery and Pei Wei. We would love to make this a yearly tradition. Next year Karena better join us. Thanks for the great weekend Brandi! Much love, your favorite sis.

Speed Racer

Bye bye training wheels hello two wheeler. This weekend Emily learned to ride her bike on two wheels. She pretty much got the hang of it after 10 minutes with Chris running beside her. After that there is no stopping her.

Bubbles

Bubbles are an all time favorite of mine. There's something about them that is carefree and calming. We have gotten so much use out of this giant bubble making kit.

Got Pee?

I know it's a strange title but we needed to get a urine sample from Emily for some testing. Sounds straight forward right? But not so easy with a six year old girl. When she finally did go, we were only able to get about 1/2 teaspoon of sample. The really funny thing was me calling the doctor and asking "do we have enough pee"?

A Special Visit

Last week Emily and I got the opportunity to hang out with Luke one evening. He is such a dude. What's not to love?

Growth Spurt

Emily is having a growth spurt. In the last month she has grown over one inch in height. This is evidenced by the fact her pants are becoming peddle pushers. When we commented to Emily about how tall she is becoming, she said "yes I know, I'm going to be tall like Auntie B". Which I thought was really cute considering my sister is about five foot three inches tall. No offense Brandi. Emily loves her Auntie B and looks up to her!

Baby Girl

A baby girl is on the way for Joey and Christie. They called us about 3 weeks ago to announce they were expecting a baby! On Tuesday they found out they are having a little girl.....sugar and spice and everything nice. Congratulations you guys, enjoy the ride. We are looking forward to dinner on Saturday.

Chelan

I mentioned in an earlier post that we were in Chelan this last weekend. Trips to the pool, walks on the beach, wine tasting, relaxing in the sun, Emily riding her scooter and playing putt putt golf. We had a great time and can't wait to go back in August. On a side note, Chris and I had a friendly little putt putt golf competition. I won. By five strokes. Yes, five strokes. Enough said.

Good Luck

Chris left for Reno, NV today to take part in the USBC Open Championships (a huge bowling tournament). I guess the USBC Open Championships is widely recognized as the world's largest participatory sporting event. Chris, the most important thing is to have fun and then second, bowl your bootie off! Mom's Day

I had a great Mother's Day. Emily made me two wonderful cards and a little flower pot. We had the chance to spend Mother's Day in Chelan this year. We went over for a long weekend and what a great time. Chris went and got me coffee and a cinnamon roll (without raisins), my favorite. The day ended with a trip to the winery for wine tasting and a great dinner with family. I'm so blessed to be Emily's mom.

Ahh the Life

The Little Parrot

Emily and I went to see Kaitlyn's Little Gym class on Saturday. It was so fun watching Kaitlyn explore and jump around. She loves the bars and can hang for a long time. How does this relate to the title? Well her vocabulary is exploding. She copies everything you say, literally. Brandi and Ryan had tickets to the M's game so after class Kaitlyn came home with Emily and I. All the way home Kaitlyn kept saying "Emily's house, Emily's house, Emily's house". She must have said that about twenty times before Emily said to Kaitlyn "enough of the house thing you're freaking me out". Which Kaitlyn proceeded to smile and say "Emily's house". Ahhhh you gotta love those girls!
