Enumclaw Expo

We took Emily and her friend Taylor to the Enumclaw Spring Expo this weekend. Kettle corn, snow cones, elephant ears, animals, crafts....it was a great time.

Brandi or Emily?

O.K. of course this pictures is of Emily. But as we are driving home from Target today, I looked in the rear view mirror at Emily and had a very deja vu moment. For a split second she looked so much like my sister when she was a little girl. When I told Emily that she thought that was really cool!

Easy Bake

Nothing like easy bakin' at 7:30am on a Saturday! Emily's pick to bake was chocolate s'mores which she said were super yummy.

Quote of the Day

Last night while Emily was taking a bath she asked me "momma, when you were a little girl did you take baths....like in the old, old, old days? When they didn't have electricity or cameras?"

A Heap of Thanks

A heap of thanks goes to Uncle Ryan, Auntie B and Kaitlyn. Chris and I went out of town this weekend and Kaitlyn hosted a wonderful, fun filled slumber party for Emily. Here's a note from Emily:

Thank you Auntie B for the many trips to the park, the bike rides and scooter rides. Thank you Uncle Ryan for helping me with the monkey bars. Thank you Kaitlyn for sharing your toys and playing with me. Thank you for the bouncy house trip. I had a great time with you guys.

Hugs and loves,

Celebration Day!

April 15th is a celebration day for two reasons. The first and most important is that it's my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday mom, aka Grammy Jill. We wish you a great birthday. I had so much fun celebrating with you and Brandi on Sunday. The second reason is that it marks the end of tax season and therefore the end of my crazy, busy work schedule. We are celebrating at work today with a Mexican fiesta.

Cruising

To celebrate my last Saturday of working this year and to take advantage of the sunny day, we headed out in the Plymouth to cruise the Tacoma waterfront. We had lunch at Duke's, walked along the beach and sat in the sun. It was a perfect day with Emily and Chris.

I Do

Chris and I said 'I Do' nine years ago today. Thinking back on our wedding day makes me smile. It was perfect. Here are just some of my favorite memories:
  • coming out from my hair appointment to find my car battery dead (nothing classier than jumping your battery in an updo and wedding veil)
  • it was sunny the whole day
  • white tulips on the tables
  • Chris dancing with his Nana
  • the waterfront view from our reception at Browns Point Club
  • Jeff Hopkins performing the Footloose dance scene
  • the best food and cake ever
  • surrounded by all our family and friends

Happy Anniversary Chris! You are the love of my life.

Easter

This year we spent Easter with the Pederson's and Krause's. We started off with a yummy brunch and continued to eat our way through the day. Thanks to the Pederson's for hosting a great day. We ended the day with the girls hunting for eggs.

The Hunt for Eggs

Our neighborhood sponsors an Easter Egg hunt each year. We had a break in the weather so Emily, Grandma Sandy and I headed up to the park to participate. They had three sections for different age groups with a total of over 3,000 eggs. The Easter Bunny would be proud.

The End is Near

I got up this morning and really, really didn't want to go to work. For those of you who don't know, I'm a tax CPA. So this is our busy time....6 days a week. I swung into Starbucks this morning for a treat. The lady at the drive-up window was so happy and friendly that you couldn't help but smile. Thank you mystery Starbucks lady for making my day!

Play Date

Today Emily had a play date with her friend in the neighborhood. These girls were so much fun to watch. Lots of Barbies, games, dancing and 'putting on a show' for all of Emily's stuffed animals. Gotta love little girls and dress up! And yes, the girls changed outfits about 15 times. Thanks Taylor for a wonderful day.

The Art of Arm Pit Noises

Yes, you read the title correctly. And I'm sure you know where this is going. Last night Emily saw on a Disney show a person 'tooting' with his arm pit. She turned and asked me if I knew how to do that. Of course I played dumb. So Chris proceeded to teach her the fundamentals of 'tooting' with your arm pit. Nice huh? To quote my sister "it's a great skill that will take you far in life"!

Friends

I have a group of friends that I've had the honor of knowing for over twenty some years. We have experienced life's ups and downs together. We always try to get together for each of our birthdays. This time it was Jamee's birthday. The only thing missing was Jen from San Diego and Karla who was out of town. Happy Birthday Jamee! Try getting 5 kids under the age of six to cooperate for a picture. I think we did pretty good. Thanks to all for a great day.

The Big '1'

Our favorite nephew turns one today. Happy Birthday Luke!

Dear Luke,

Uncle Chris, cousin Emily and I can't wait to celebrate your big day with you. You are a very special little boy to us and it's been such a joy to watch you grow this past year. We look forward to many, many birthdays with you. Enjoy your cupcakes at Rainbow, Emily is jealous!

Much love,

Calling all Car Junkies

This one is for Chris' grandfather, Mr. Albert James Moser. He is no longer with us but I'm sure he is smiling down on Chris as he drives around in his old car.

Date Night

We went out last night with Brandi and Ryan. Yes, a grown up dinner complete with appetizers, drinks, salad, main course and the BEST dessert. Brandi and Ryan suggested a new place, The Fins Bistro in Issaquah. It was a great choice. Thanks to Grammy Jill for watching our princess and the Pederson's little peanut.
