Hello 2017

12/31/16

Only a month behind on the blog posts!  Hello 2017.  Here's hoping it's one that provides some peace and comfort for our family.  2016 couldn't end fast enough!  We kept with our New Year's Eve tradition (well the 2nd annual requested by Luke).  Dinner at the Spaghetti Factory and then off to welcome the New Year in at Scott and Karena's house.

Dog Sitter for Hire

This Christmas break Emily was quite the entrepreneur.  She was the neighborhood dog sitter.  She had the awesome opportunity to watch Phin, Leia, Rosco and Macy.  And she earned some money for her Florida trip.

Ornament X-change

12/26/16

I'm beginning to lose count....I think this is year number 27 on our friends ornament exchange tradition.  And this year was extra special because Jen was up her visiting!  It's been a long time since all five of us were together.  They are an amazing group of women...so talented, accomplished and kind.  I'm truly blessed.  I met Karla in the second grade, Jen in middle school and Jamee and Chrissy in high school.  Lots of history with these ladies.

A New Tradition

12/24/16

Sandy came up with a great idea on Christmas Eve.....we each wrote a message on a balloon to Scott and released them into the night sky.  It was a heartfelt tribute and a bit emotional but we all thought this would be a great tradition to carry on each Christmas Eve.

Karena wrote this on facebook regarding our Christmas Eve and I thought it was worth sharing:

Miss u babe, Christmas was always your favorite holiday. Your dad and mom out did themselves like they always do no detail was left forgotten the prime rib was cooked to perfection..every gift brought big smiles and squeals..all that was missing was u...i know your presence surrounded us..Grammy had the best idea...sending balloons with hand written messages up to you in heaven..be sure to read the red balloon it has a message from the Dude on it that he wrote all on his own...

Christmas Eve

12/24/16

It was a blessed day but bittersweet in many ways.  All was great and perfect....the only thing missing was Scott.  So thankful for my in-laws!

Emily and Luke love going to Grandma Sandy and Papa's house for Christmas Eve!

In addition to it being Christmas Eve, the Seahawks played!  Here Luke and I are demonstrating our "12".

Luke and Em both got a special gift via Scott.  Both are made out of Scott's shirts.

Em loves her Auntie Karena.  By far one of her favorite gifts....a 3D pen!

Gotta love the Christmas Vacation village....the sled house!

Emily was so touched by this gift that Auntie Karena had made for her out of one of Scott's favorite shirts.

The Dude!

This big guy and this little guy have a special bond.  Both miss their brother and Daddy so much.

Finished Product

12/23/16

Finally got the tree decorated and presents wrapped!  A huge thank you to my helper Elf....Emily!  She is for hire to wrap presents.

Kenworth Tour

12/23/16

Emily had expressed interest in touring the Kenworth Truck plant when we attended Santa day.  The staff at the KW Renton plant is amazing.  It is apparent in so many ways how Scott touched peoples lives when he was Plant Manager.  They gave the Moser family the royal treatment.

Boling Party

12/18/16

The annual Boling holiday gift exchange was a good one this year.  Lots of stolen gifts and a few trades!

Bellevue Holiday Style

12/17/16 - 12/18/16

On a total spur of the moment we decided to crash the Pederson's party in Bellevue.  Chris, Emily and I decided to take a road trip to Bellevue complete with an overnight visit.  We stayed at the Hyatt with the Pederson's.  An awesome way to have some holiday cheer......shopping, eating, visiting Santa and checking out Snowflake Lane.  One of my favorite memories is at the Chase's Pancake Corral.

3D Plant Cell

12/16/16

Emily had a big science project due before Winter break....3D plant cell model.  I think she rocked it!

SNOW

12/15/16

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!  Woke up to this beautiful scenery and to Emily's enjoyment, a two hour late start at school!

Music

12/13/16

Ah the sweet sound of music.  And I must say the Glacier 7th and 8th grade band out did themselves.  Another great concert!  Thanks to all our family for coming to support Emily!

Family

12/11/16

Angie and Chuck hosted a family holiday gathering.  I wish I would have gotten more pictures as almost all the Knutzen, Moser and Hopkins families were represented.  It was fun and nice to catch up even though the Seahawks lost that day.
