Mom's Day

Two things stand out on my Mothers Day.  First, Emily singing with me at church and second, her helping me plant our garden.

Art

It's a Hoe Down

The Foothills kindergarten classes put on a hoe down  performance yesterday.  It's fun that Luke and Jack are in the same grade level.

Oh La La

As in fancy smancy country club.  Yes rubbing elbows with the elite.  The Pederson's invited us to join them on Sunday for a day in the sun at the Fairwood CC.  Awesome!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to us!  A bit delayed in the celebration but we hit Katie Downs on Saturday for a night out.

Cat-O-Mania

Thursday night marked the 5th grade music concert.  Awesome, wonderful and a work of art.  A HUGE thanks to the amazing music teacher Ms. T.  She truly goes above and beyond for her students.  She is making a huge difference!

Our Poet

Habitats

Habitats, prey, predators, eco-systems.  Those were all discussed on Emily's last elementary school field trip.  On Tuesday Mrs. D's class traveled to the Point Defiance Zoo.  Luckily the rain held off and there was no one at the zoo!

Scouts Day

Saturday was scouts day at Northwest Trek....boy scouts and girl scouts.  Emily earned the animal habitats badge.  And yes the last picture is a grizzly bear...it was so cool!

Cake

As in birthday cake!  I know the post is a bit late but we celebrated my mom's birthday last Sunday with a BBQ and cake. 

Fair Fun

The spring fair came to town this weekend.  And the weather was perfect....felt like a summer day not a day in April.  Taylor and Emily rocked the fair! 

Special Guest

We had the pleasure of dog sitting Ms. Leia for a week.  She holds a very special place in my heart.  It was hard to see her go but she was so excited to see her family return from their vacation!  We learned a couple things from this adventure....one Emily was super responsible with Leia and most of the time was the poop picker upper and the second,  having Leia got me out walking or to the park each night.  As for Peaches....they co-existed but even though Leia is the bigger of the two, everyone knew that Peaches ruled the house!

Hoppy Easter!

I know Easter was a week ago but better late than never.  A HUGE thank you to the Pederson family!  They hosted a wonderful Easter celebration.  Great food and an Easter egg hunt.

Celebration

A wonderful classy birthday celebration for a wonderful classy lady.  We had a birthday bash for Sandy's 70th birthday last weekend at Mama Stortini's.  It turned out great and a huge thank you to the family and friends for making it a special day.  One highlight was that Emily got up and played 'Happy Birthday' to Grandma Sandy on her flute!  She totally rocked it!

A Howling Thank You!

For Emily's birthday Auntie B, Uncle Ryan and KP treated Emily to a night at the Great Wolf Lodge.  A huge thank you to them for a great get away for Emily.  I think they had a howling good time!

Sunday was spent celebrating Luke's birthday.  He hosted at Pump It Up! 

Spring

Today is....

Sandy's 70th birthday!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!  Hope that you have a wonderful, special day.  Looking forward to celebrating with you soon.  We love you!

Archery

Thursday was archery with Em's girl scout troop.  They had a blast...though the safety video was a bit intimidating.  I get the safety aspect but when the guy on the video says the arrow is a weapon and will pierce your skull and you will die....kind of freaked me out!

Future Michelle Kwan?

For quite some time Emily has been begging to go ice skating.  A huge thanks to Grandma Sandy for taking her on Saturday.  She loved it and wants to go again!

 

Band

Band concert last Thursday.  White River SD music teachers are awesome!

Happy Birthday Luke!

Luke turned 6 years old today.  I remember the day he was born....it even snowed that day!  Have a great birthday Luke!  We love you!

Science Project

The last week or so has been focused on Emily's science project.....first real big project that she has had to research, develop and time manage.  It was quite a week.  We are proud of her.  She did this one all by herself.  But I am thinking poking my eyes out would be better than doing another science project.
