KP slept over on Sunday night. And on Monday we did some summer time fun. Including a trip to the park, a treat at Munchies and playing in the sprinkler. What a better way to kick off summer!

Happy
I looked out the window on Sunday, saw this and it made me happy. The pictures don't do it justice. The rainbow was huge and it was a double one!

June 14, 1969
What's special about June 14, 1969? My parents said "I do". And on Saturday that was 45 years ago! Pretty awesome and cool huh? Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad.

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there! An extra special one to Chris and my Dad, Al, Uncle Ryan and Uncle Scott. We headed to Duke's for lunch which was extremely yummy! Chris then had free reign of the TV all day. Hope you had a great day Chris. Love ya...Jen and Em.

Field Day
The end of the school year is approaching fast. Seems like they pack a ton of stuff in the last week! Field day was yesterday and I had the honor of volunteering all day to help out.

Backyard Camp Out!
Saturday we had Luke for the night. So we decided to do a good old fashion backyard camp out. Well not the tent kind....that might be roughing it too much for me when I have a perfectly good bed a few feet away! And what's a camp out without s'mores and great friends? The Dahmen's and Tjossem's joined us for the campfire treats!

Scout Night
East Pierce Fire & Rescue coordinated a scout night last Friday. They had eight stations that the kids rotated through teaching safety, emergency preparedness, knot tying, education on public service careers, etc. Pretty cool.
Hopefully NOT a foreshadowing event...Emily and Taylor in the back of a police car.
Learning about all the tools on a fire truck.
I'm sure you can guess what this station was about....and no it wasn't about cool hair accessories!

Class of 2027
Yes, you read that correctly...2027! It took me by surprise when I walked into Luke's preschool graduation and the sign announced 'Congratulations Class of 2027'. Rainbow did a great job at celebrating the preschoolers. We were entertained by a few songs and then watched them each received a diploma (where the teacher said something unique about each kiddo).
Luke walked out and was so excited to see his Mom, Dad, Uncle Chris,me, Aunt Lisa, his cousins; Emily, Emily H. and Ryan.
Luke singing his heart out....he was singing loud and proud!
Luke getting his 'diploma'. The teacher in the black skirt is Ms. Jen. This was also Emily's teacher when she was at Rainbow!

A Milestone
Friday night Emily headed off to Girl Scout camp for the weekend. As most of you know Emily is a homebody. She hasn't really spent too much time away from home, overnight, without Chris or I. So I was a little nervous about how the weekend would play out. She did great. No middle of the night calls...not one word of being homesick! I think it was a huge help that one of her Girl Scout leaders is Mandy and Em is so comfortable with her.
Chris and I took out the boat on Saturday...we were kid less! At first not sure what to do with ourselves for the weekend. We are going to suck at the empty nest thing. Good thing we have at least 8 or 9 years to go.
After a day on the boat, Chris took me to dinner at Melrose Grill. This place is super yummy and a definite must. Our server's name was Emily...a cool sign if you believe in those, which I do.
Emily in her bunk at camp. This year they were in covered cabins but it was an open air structure. They definitely had to rough it more this year than previous years.

Java and Clay
Last Saturday we headed to Java and Clay in Gig Harbor with Chrissy and Madlyn. For Em's birthday Madlyn had given Em a pottery painting experience. And it was super duper fun! Of course Chrissy and I both had to get in on the action. After pottery, we headed to a fun diner in Tacoma called Shake, Shake, Shake. By far the best milkshakes and onion rings around! Thanks to Madlyn and Chrissy for a great afternoon!

Year-End BBQ
Last Friday marked the annual year-end BBQ for Emily's school. A bummer that it was raining most of the time but towards the last part of her recess the rain took a break!
Fun
My sister was traveling last week and so I had the opportunity to pick up Kaitlyn after school. Bummer for my sis but totally fun for me! I took Em out of school a bit early so we were both waiting for KP at the bus stop. And it was a good thing....KP was over the moon excited to see Emily! We proceeded to play hide and seek and play at the park until Ryan came home from work. Fun afternoon with my two favorite girls!

Peanuts and Cracker Jacks
Take me out to the ballgame and buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks! Emily's school choir had the opportunity to sing at the Tacoma Rainier's baseball game last Tuesday. It was a beautiful sunny day. The kids did great! It was a fun experience. Thanks to all our family who came out to support Emily and her choir.
