The Big 4-0

Family, friends and forty...all fabulous!  My wonderful husband threw me an amazing 40th surprise birthday party....and boy was I surprised.  I must say everyone did a great job keeping it under wraps.  I couldn't have asked for a better day.  Thank you to all for making my day so special.

What are the Odds?

Emily and Madlyn lost the same tooth on the same day (Aug 24th).  What are the odds of that happening?

The Scoop

Here are some cools things that happened around the Moser household this week.  Last Wednesday was Papa Dirt's birthday!  We celebrated by heading down to my parents on Sunday.  The girls ran through the sprinkler, played at the beach and of course had cake!  Happy Birthday Dad!

Another big event...Emily got a new bike.  Her previous one was way too small so we moved up!  She loves it and all the kids in the neighborhood are usually out riding bikes each day.  If you in the market for a bike, try the Bonney Lake Bike Shop.  They are great!

Emily and her new bike.

We have also been preparing for school to start.  Emily's first day of second grade is September 1st.  A trip for school supplies, a dentist visit, an eye doctor visit and school clothes shopping with Taylor and Mandy completed the list.

And the most current event....Emily lost another tooth.  One of her front teeth!

Hmmm...

should I be concerned that my daughter is running around in her underwear singing while wearing her winter ear muffs?

The Method Family

The Method Family came to visit from California.  It was so great to see them and made me realize how much I miss my friend Robin.  We were talking and realized that we have known each other over 30 years!

Here's Luke, Molli and Emily.  They had so much fun together swimming at the lake, playing catch phrase and just being kids!

The kids at Point Defiance Zoo.  We got to see the baby clouded leopard cubs up close and also watched them be fed!

Road Trip

Call us crazy but this year my sister and I decided to drive to Spokane for our annual girls trek.  Actually it was due more to the fact that airline tickets were outrageous.  Friday afternoon we packed up my Venza with an excited 7 year old and 3 year old.   Portable DVD players are pretty much the best invention for road trips!  Amazingly enough the trip took us 4 1/2 hours with only 2 stops.  Not bad huh?

Our first day was spent at the pool, playing at the park, meeting up with family and ending with a BBQ.

The second day we purchased a summer day pass for the park.  Unlimited rides, IMAX movie, carousel rides, a pony ride, snow cones and much more.  Of course there was pool time!  We ended the day with a picnic in the park....Red Robin take out for the girls and PF Chang's take out for us.  What better way to end the day??

We headed back home on Monday.  But not before one last swim in the pool and one last ride on the Carousel.  All and all a great trip.

All Aboard the Dino Train

I must say my sister out did herself this year with Kaitlyn's birthday party.  What a great Dinosaur Train party complete with Jurassic juice, a dino dig, DYO dino t-shirt and much more.  Plus the weather was a perfect sunny Seattle day.

Our Annual Summer Chelan Trip

Last week was our annual summer trip to Lake Chelan with the Moser family.  This year we also had the Pederson family join us for part of the trip.  There are many great things about Chelan but here's everyone's favorite from the 2011 trip:

Luke:  The beach and playing in the sand
Karena:  Being around family and soaking in the sun when it came out
Scott:  Taking Emily old school swimming
Emily:  The pool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jen:  Seeing Emily cannonball into the pool and feeling the warmth of the sun
Chris:  Taking out both boats and heading down to Chelan to feed Albert the ducks
Sandy and Al:  Having us all together spending time with our sons and their wives and grandkids
Kaitlyn:  Her birthday celebration
Brandi:  Our Wednesday morning boating trip
Ryan:  Sitting lakeside, outside the condo, kicking back with some drinks

You will see Luke holding at least one car or truck in his hand at all times. He loves singing and to hear him sing B-I-N-G-O is priceless.

Kaitlyn turned three is Chelan.  She loved the pool and the park. She is a huge fan of sweets...like s'mores and cupcakes.

After this trip we have renamed Emily the FISH.  She was in the water every chance she got.  She is quite the boating girl too.  One of her favorite things in the boat is riding in the front and telling Chris to go faster!

Guess Who is Three?

Ms. Kaitlyn Ryan Pederson.  She turned three on July 19th.  We had the privilege to celebrate on her actual birthday in Lake Chelan!  We had some of her favorites for dinner....BBQ hot dogs and hamburgers, watermelon, Cheetos and of course cupcakes.  Happy Birthday Kaitlyn....can't believe it's been three years since I witnessed your entrance into the world.  You are such a joy and I love being your Aunt!  Love ya!

Boating fun

It was one of those days that wasn't planned yet everything fell into place.  Marty, Jamee and Max were able to stop by for a visit.  They were up from Portland celebrating Max's 2nd birthday.  On a spur of the moment we decided to take the boat out.  We were privileged to witness Max's first boating experience.  After a few laps around Lake Tapps we headed to Hop Jack's for lunch.  It was such a wonderful day and so good to see Marty, Jamee and Max.  Thanks for the great visit!

Celebration Day

Yesterday we celebrated Brandi's birthday (though her actual birthday is July 12th).  What a great day.  And I must say the whole day revolved around food!  How could that not be a great day?  The day started with a yummy brunch.  We proceeded to pickup Sonic burgers for lunch and then had a nacho bar for dinner.  And of course birthday cake, which when asked was Kaitlyn's favorite part of the day.  Hope you enjoyed your special day Brandi....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Vacation Bible Camp

I think this will be an annual thing for Taylor and Emily.  Calvary CC does a great job at hosting this vacation bible camp.  This years theme, Superhero.  Emily's favorite part is the music!

Catch Up

It feels like with our household bit of the flu, Chris traveling alot and the end of school coming things have been crazy busy.  Here's a brief bit about the last week or so.
  • Our friend Charlotte celebrated her 3rd birthday with a PJ and pancake party.  So fun!

  • As Emily's birthday gift, her friend Madlyn took us to the play "Miss Nelson is Missing".  Great book and great play.  I certainly wouldn't want Ms. Viola Swamp as a teacher.
  • Another great book club meeting on Friday hosted by Micah.  Yummy food and we laughed and laughed.
  • A garage sale weekend with Brandi and Mandy.  It was successful and we did sell our crib.  A bit sad but the person that purchased it was in labor so it was a funny story!  Here's Emily with her crib for the last time.

  •  On Sunday a lunch and movie date with my sister.  We sat outside at Duke's and then watched 'Bridesmaids'.  Funny!
  • Emily had her gymnastic show on Sunday.  I guess she rocked her moves!
